Callum's First Birthday
Wow where has the last 12 (well 13 now) months gone.. I don't think a year has ever moved so fast! And what a year it has been. Thrust into motherhood three weeks early, hit with an unexpected diagnosis of dwarfism, a stay in the hospital and an absolute emotional rollercoaster, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
So we entered the run up to Callum's first birthday with a trip to the hospital and an early present of bronchiolitis. What a few days that was. I took Callum to the GP as he was completely out of sorts, his appetite was awful and his breathing was erratic, we were referred to the hospital and we didn't come out for three days. Callum's oxygen levels had dipped and we had to stay until they had stabilised with him being put on oxygen mainly whilst he slept.
After that he finally started eating again and normality began to resume. Thankfully. For his birthday we had a BBQ in our garden for our family and friends and whilst the sun shined and everyone had a lovely time (I hope) Callum decided to wait until people began to arrive to have a melt down. He sobbed and slept his way through the afternoon and finally cheered up when most people had left, maybe he's not a people person haha.
On his actual birthday we went to the zoo and he was in a much better mood. We even bumped into our friends and their little girl who was born the day before Callum and we've vowed to have a birthday photo now every year.
We just want to say thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate Callum's birthday and wished him well, we really do appreciate all the love and support we have surrounding us and couldn't have got through this last year without it.
So let roll on the next twelve months, whatever your going to throw at us we are ready!!
